Ieuan had many hobbies and interests in his short life, visited many places, was involved in after school clubs, he loved singing and dancing, he went to singing lessons and salsa dancing with his cousin and best friend Scarlet. One of the best things he loved was LIFE he had so much more to do and give, but this was so cruelly taken away from him over a three year period, but he still kept smiling until even that was taken away from him and he could smile no more, in this world. This is a brief description of the things he did achieve and loved to do. At the age of two he stole the stage at his friend Jacobs christening with his own version of Tom Jones Delilah, the people who witnessed this will treasure it forever, we have got this on video. Ieuan loved to dress up and entertain us all, he would turn a scarf into a dress, he had the eye for fashion his Auntie Helen who he loved very much said he was her next Julian McDonald. Rebecca, Ieuans cousin would put on shows to entertain their Nanny Mo, Mo, and Ganky Bill, she once dressed Ieuan up as Stevie Wonder just out of a bin bag, you had to see it to believe it. Rebecca also dressed him up as Baby Spice from the Spice Girls, he had pigtails in his hair which were made out of white socks, quite breathtaking, he then entertained us by singing and dancing. One Easter Auntie Helen did an Easter Egg Hunt and Ieuan and Scarlet went missing they decided to dress up as Easter Bunnies when they finally appeared they were totally transformed they were unrecognisable unless you knew who they were of course, they had such great fun and these were very special moments and times that we will all treasure forever. At the age of three, Ieuan, Scarlet, Rebecca, Nana Mo, Auntie Helen, Mum Rose and Ben went on a trip up to Wembley to see the Spice Girls live. This was a great day enjoyed by all another memory we will all treasure. Ieuan and Scarlet always hoped the Spice Girls would get back together, and they eventually did at the end of 2007 it was announced that they would tour again, unfortunately this was too late for Ieuan, but we are sure he was up there on stage with them, he would have had the best seat in the house. Ieuan, became an Alter Server at St. Davids Church in 2002 after making his First Holy Communion, he was a member of the after school club CAFOD with Scarlet and other classmates and his very special teacher Mrs Kelly-Fisher. As we mentioned Ieuan loved singing and dancing he won first prize in the talent competition at St. Davids School with his own version of Forget Your Troubles Come On Get Happy. Ieuan and Scarlet went to private singing lessons together, they used to sing solo and duet, Ieuan sang solo I Dreamed a Dream from Les Misserable and it is unbelievable when you think of the high notes he used to reach. They sang duet Any Dream Will Do from Joseph and Beauty and The Beast from the Walt Disney Classic, they both enjoyed these lessons very much, they were very special times. The song he had started to learn to sing before he had to stop his lesson due to his illness was The Rose. I can remember him asking me (his mum) when will I be able to go back to my singing lessons I replied we will sort it Ieu, when you get over this, we were actually on our way to Hydro Therapy which was on the same route as his singing lessons, we lived in hope. He is now singing and dancing with the Angels entertaining Nana Mo Mo and Ganky Bill once again. Ieuan, Scarlet and Ben (Ieuans Brother) were in a fund raising evening singing which was put on by their singing teacher Simon for all his singers and they rose over £1700.00 which Ieuan and Scarlet presented to Latch, a charity which is attached to the Sky Ward, Childrens Oncology at the Childrens Hospital in Wales where Ieuan received his treatment. From a young age Ieuan loved to watch the Disney Classic films one of his favourites was Sleeping Beauty, he used to sing this song to his mother Rose. The Lion King was then released on video and this was watched by Ieuan time and time again. When he visited Great Ormond Street Hospital to see his consultant we took him on a surprise to see the West End Production of the The Lion King, he absolutely loved this show and we are so glad he had the chance to experience this. The Circle of Life was played at his funeral it was a fitting tribute to our very own and very brave Ieuan the Lion. On another of Ieuans visits to Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, after the appointment we took Ieuan to the London Eye, Mum thought she would be very brave and went on with Ieuan and Dad, but as the London Eye moved up even though it was very slow, Mum was very frightened she does not like heights, and had to lay down on the centre seat so she could not see out. Brave Ieuan was right at the very edge of the capsule in his wheelchair and was laughing at his mum. This was another wonderful day with our special boy and another achievement for him. Ieuan was also a big fan of WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment). He went to see this live on a number of occasions with his dad, Ben and Scarlet. They went to Birmingham, Sheffield, Nottingham and Cardiff. His favourite wrestlers were Shaun Michaels, Triple H (DX), Rey Mysterio and The Undertaker. He also spent many happy hours on his PINK Playstation, playing the WWE Wrestling game, he used to like designing the clothes the wrestlers wore in the matches, these were the Divas as well!!! As Ieuan s illness deteriorated, this was his only life line to something he could do for himself. He managed to hold the control pad with two hands, he sometimes got very frustrated, but would never give up. His brothers Louis and Ben very rarely beat him. On 15th July, 2006, Ieuan had the honour of being Best Man for Andrew who was marrying his Auntie Helen, he was so excited, even though he could not walk or talk, Louis his oldest brother helped Ieuan and Morgan Andrews son, who was also sharing the role with Ieuan. The Wedding Ceremony was at Castle Coch, the Fairytale Castle. Ieuan actually visited this Castle with Helen and Andrew, Nick and Helen (Andrews Sister) about two years prior to this and he was able to walk right to the very top of the towers. The music to the first dance for the Bride and Groom at the Wedding Reception, Ieuan chose especially for Helen and Andrew and this was Someday My Prince Will Come from the Walt Disney Classic Snow White We were all go very grateful that Ieuan was here to share this special day with his Auntie Helen who he loved so much and amongst and all his family and friends. Ieuan had a few trips to Penzance in Cornwall with Auntie Helen, Andrew, Scarlet, Morgan and Ruby, they stayed with Margaret and Peter they visited St. Ives, Lands End, Paradise Park and many other beaches in and around Cornwall, these were very happy times. In 2003 before Ruby was born they went on holiday to the Norfolk Broads on the canal in a narrow boat, this was quite an experience, but they all had great fun another brilliant time. Ieuan had many happy holidays, he visited Tenby every year for a week sometimes two, he went to Oakwood Park and loved the rides the higher the better. In 2006 he could not walk, but he managed to go on Mega Phobia 3 times and Hydro, we carried him on and off what an achievement. In 2002 he visited Florida, this was one of his favourite places in the world he went to see Mickey Mouse and friends he had a great time, he loved space mountain, thunder mountain also visiting Sea world to see Shamoo the Killer whale. He got quite upset at one point at this park, because he was not tall enough to go on one of the roller coasters, we said he could go on this one day when we visited again. This trip was arranged for April 2007 unfortunately Ieuan did not make it he was too ill. He loved all the Disney Parades at the Magic Kingdom, Epcot and MGM Studios all the wonderful fire and water displays. He also visited Universal Studios experiencing the Jaws Ride, King Kong, and many more. In 2002 Ieuans Nanny Mo, Mo,sadly passed away and then in 2003 Ganky Bill these were a big part of Ieuans life but he very bravely witnessed this with his brothers Louis and Ben and cousins Rebecca and Scarlet, little did we all know that in 2007 Ieuan would be laid to rest with his Ganky Bill. In 2003, 2005 and 2006 Ieuan went to Our Ladys Shrine in Lourdes with HCPT Group 97. This Organisation takes Groups of Children to Lourdes and Ieuan had very many happy times and made wonderful friends. In 2003 he went with Scarlet, a special memory to all Group 97 was when Ieuan and Scarlet started to Salsa Dance and they cleared the dance floor, this memory will stay with the group forever. He loved being with these special people they were all so very kind to him and all the other children, they gave him such wonderful happy memories, we are all so grateful that he was given the chance to experience these trips. In August 2004 Ieuan went to Paris he visited Disneyland, Park Asterix this was full of very fast and high roller coasters once again for Ieuan the higher the better. We went into Paris and he managed to reach the top of the Eiffel Tower yet again another achievement. In October 2004 he visited Disneyland Paris again to celebrate Halloween, he dressed up as a witch in black and PINK!!! He looked so cool. As well as going to the top of the Eiffel Tower, Ieuan also went to the top of Blackpool Tower, he also experienced the Fun Fair at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, the higher and faster the rides the better he had great fun. Ieuan, had a few trips to London, which was organised by Tony Curtis, he arranges these trips for children who have life threatening illnesses. He went to Clarence House in 2005 on a coach from Cardiff with other special children escorted by members of the Welsh Guards to dress the Christmas Tree with Prince Charles they also had tea there with Charles and Camilla, Ieuan loved the cherry tomatoes, and Camilla said to me take some home with you for him . Prince Charles gave the parents a gift of a Christmas pudding and fudge, it was the best we have ever tasted. They went to the House of Commons and had lunch with the Speaker Mr. Martin this was a great honour. They also visited the Welsh Office where Father Christmas arrived with sacks of Christmas presents. What a wonderful experience, a great day. Ieuan also went to take daffodils to No. 10 on St. Davids Day once again arranged by Tony Curtis, another wonderful experience and we thank him and all his team for giving Ieuan this fabulous day out. On January 29th 2007, Ieuan once again went to London to Plant a Tree in Speakers Corner in the House of Commons. Ieuan was now becoming very unwell, but he still braved the trip, he was carried on and off the coach, slept all the way up to London and back, he put the first spade of earth into the ground, this was very special as this tree was planted on his Auntie Helens birthday, and if you go on London Bridge and look over into the garden you will see it. This tree is first and only tree to ever be planted in speakers corner and this was by the Children of Latch. The Spade Ieuan used has been engraved and given to us to cherish from Tony Curtis, Latch. We are so grateful for these wonderful memories of our beautiful boy Ieuan XXX At the beginning of 2006, Ieuan was invited down to Sky Ward (Childrens Hospital in Wales Cardiff) to meet Gavin Henson, Ryan Jones, Tom Shanklin and Bret Cobain all Welsh Rugby players, where he and other special children received gifts and autographs and most importantly had a photo shoot, as you can see from the photos Gavin was in competition with Ieuans Red Hair!!! In 2006, Ieuan went to Porthmadoc, in North Wales, he visited the Blaenau Ffestiniog Slate Mines and the Railway, he also went to the top of Snowdonia even though he was in his wheelchair. He had a wonderful time. In January 2006, he visited Disneyland Paris again to celebrate his Auntie Helens 40th Birthday. He stayed at the Disneyland PINK Hotel what an experience this was for Ieuan, we are so glad he went to this wonderful hotel, he was treated so very special by all the characters it was like a dream, such wonderful happy memories. Ieuan loved the glitz and glamour of life, he was very unique, he loved fashion, had lots of hats many designs and colours, his hair styles lots of crazy colours as you can see from some of his photos. He was a very happy boy and he loved to please people. He will be remembered by his beautiful smile, he was a breath of fresh air, our Angel Eyes, we will never understand why he was so cruelly taken away from us. We do know he will live in our hearts for ever, and we will keep his name and wonderful happy memories alive. IEUAN Your smile touched the lives of so many
